Welcome back the second of Peekaboo Gallery’s EXOTIKON Vintage TIKI & EXOTICA Auctions! We offer some of the most rare and unique artifacts and ephemera from the mid-century world of Polynesian Pop. Since our first sales of the famed OCEANIC ARTS collection in 2022, we have specialized in bringing a finely curated assemblage from outstanding collections in the field of vintage Tiki collecting to market.
For this auction, several prominent collectors have pulled treasures that you will have a chance to add to your collection of vintage paradise.
One collection that we are especially proud to represent in this sale is that of famed author and Godfather of the Tiki Revival, SVEN KIRSTEN! Sven has been curating an exceptional gathering of Tiki and Polynesian Pop for decades. His collecting set Sven on a path to uncover a lost world that came further into view with each item he’d bring home from swap meets, thrift stores and sometimes things that would just fall into his lap! In 2000, Sven released his bombshell, THE BOOK OF TIKI, triggering an explosion of interest in Polynesian Pop that reverberates even today.
Now, PEEKABOO GALLERY is proud to offer another session of greatest collection of Mid-Century Commercial Polynesian-Pop artifacts. Almost 1000 lots over two days. Everything you’ve come to expect from our sales is included here: Rare TIKI CARVINGS, LIGHTING, TROPICAL DECOR, NEW and VINTAGE POLYNESIAN INSPIRED ART, RARE TIKI MUGS, WITCO & OTHER TIKI FURNISHINGS and an ultra-rare selection of ORIGINAL PLANS and ARTIFACTS from the mythic, MAI-KAI Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This hardcover commemorative catalog is itself a stunning art book. Written by authors Sven Kirsten and Jordan Reichek, this book is filled with anecdotes and descriptions which shed light on the treasures within.
Printed in a very limited edition, hardcover catalog, it is now available pre re-order. Almost 300 pages of gorgeous photography that showcases a thorough cross-section of the 20th Century social fad known as TIKI.

Bidding is available through online pre-bidding, absentee bidding and live in-person.
DAY ONE will be held LIVE at the World Famous, ROYAL HAWAIIAN Restaurant in Laguna Beach, California! This is open to the public for a fun day on live audience bidding, great cocktails, and food at this historic, newly restored venue. Registration can be made online in advance on iCollector or in-person to receive a paddle. See Peekaboo Gallery staff when you arrive to receive your bidder’s paddle.*Seating is first come, first serve.
DAY TWO will be held ONLINE ONLY through iCollector or the Peekaboo Gallery app. LIVE PODCAST will accompany the auction on DAY TWO with Sven Kirsten, Jordan Reichek and other special guests.
